How does STW relate to education, economic and workforce development?

School-To-Work activities will continue to grow and become a more significant part of our lifelong learning process. Within the K-12 system, the graduation standards are philosophically aligned with two important STW principles: applied and contextual learning. The post-secondary education system and the business sectors will continue to see increases in new occupations created by technology and a faster churn in the need for incumbent workers to upgrade skills.

These factors, along with the use of communication technology and many others, will continue to create an environment that will encourage change in educational and labor market exchange systems, bringing all parties to the table to discuss issues and develop responses to their growing needs.
